My Favorite Ceremonial Cacao Recipe
So you all know how obsessed with cacao I am by now.
And not just any cacao, but Keiths Ceremonial Grade Cacao. Read all about WHY im so obsessed here.
I often get asked how to make it or get started working with it.
Honestly, I change how I make it all the time! Thats the joy of cacao. I am always finding new flavor combinations, herbal mixtures and fun techniques.
But this is a recipe I use most often. One might say i’m even a bit obsessed with this combination.
Making Instructions

What you need:
A block of KEITHS CACAO!
Oat milk (or another plant based milk, no dairy! It deactivates theobromine!)
Sweetener of choice, I like monk fruit, honey is also great! Mucuna Powder (optional) Lucuma Power (optional) Vanilla spices (cinnamon or cardamon are great!)
Optional but DELICIOUS: Coffee Break Coffee Substitute Mix (my FAVORITE coffee sub I’ve ever used and SO tasty in cacao!)
Step 1: Chop the block of cacao as fine as you can using a heavy chopping knife
Optional. Blend into a fine powder using a food processor (this is my favorite way to have cacao ready to go!)
Step 2: Heat 4-5 oz of water or nut milk or a mix to just under boiling (for a full dose I recommend water only)
Step 3: Add your preferred dose of cacao and liquid to the blender
NOTE: You may make it on the stove, but it will require constant whisking so the cacao does not settle on the bottom.
Dose sizes
One block = 11.5 Ceremonial Doses
One Full dose = 6 heaping tbs
One Creative dose = 2-3 heaping tbs
(Note: making for a group, I usually use one block for around 20 people)
Step 5: Add anything else you desire to the blender
(suggestions on the next page)
Step 6: Blend until smooth and serve
Step 7: Take a moment to 'set an intention' or call in whatever you wish to experience that day. Cacao is here to support you in opening yourself.
